  Supplying the World with Quality Grommets and Grommeting Equipment
Self-Piercing Grommets Standard Grommets Drapery Grommets
HIKER offers a wide range of standard grommets from small eyelets for shoe laces to large grommets for stage curtains.  HIKER also specializes in self-piercing grommets which cut their own holes.  HIKER's self-piercing grommets are manufactured in an ISO 9002 certified environment with only the highest quality raw materials.  No other company in North America has as more sizes and types of self-piercing grommets than HIKER.

SELF-PIERCING GROMMETS
Self-piercing grommets eliminate extra steps and save time, which saves you money!  How?  The tips of the barrels on each grommet are sharper and the material is more rigid, which allows the grommets to cut their own perfect sized holes every time.  This eliminates the need to 'pre-cut' holes, saves labor hours and provides the framework for a quality grommet setting with every insertion.  Having the grommets cut their own holes also eliminates the extra cost of purchasing and maintaining a separate hole-punch and allows significant savings ($1,600 on average), on electric presses because fewer moving parts are necessary.  The benefits of self-piercing grommets at HIKER's industry low prices will make a positive impact on your company's bottom line.

What are Grommets  used in?
Q:  What's the difference between a grommet and an eyelet?

A:  Not much.  Grommets are eyelets.  However, the term grommet is usually used to refer to larger eyelets or eyelets with larger flanges.
Notes:

ID = Inside Diameter
OD = Outside Diameter
LUF = Length Under Flange

All given dimensions are approximate.

Grommet dimensions vary between manufacturers for various reasons, such as proprietary designs, different manufacturing techniques, etc.

In general, the more common 'size' names
in the market (i.e. #0, 1,
2, 3, 4, 5), refer only to
an approximate inside diameter.

Not all suppliers follow
the same size name to dimension, so always check inside diameter.
For example, another common supplier calls their 5/8" id grommet a
#4 when all others in the
market refer to a 5/8" id grommet as a #5.
